Twenty-six years of baking, one small counter

Founder Abood Bin Aslam Al Katheri learned baking and worked at it for nearly 26 years before opening Nimrah — and the room still runs on that craft. Tea leaves are boiled to a decoction; milk simmers for hours in samovars, sometimes thickened with mawa; biscuits come out of the oven through the day.

Walk up at dawn and the owner will happily talk you through the cafe's history — then hand you khopra biscuits, shirmal and a khada-chamach chai with the Charminar framed in the doorway.
